The Gift of the Gods fund was established a few years prior to the
Chesapeake Pagan Community as a memorial to Bear and Te, a well-known and loved
local Pagan couple, who passed into the summerland within a year of each other.
This fund was originally an independent foundation designed to provide grants, in
the form of pre-paid registrations at gatherings and conferences, for Pagan
folk of limited means. The grants were sometimes referred to as "scholarships,"
although none were actually used to pay for classes at colleges and universities.
Chesapeake Pagan Community is now custodian to the Gift of the Gods fund.
