The Natural Way to Go Camping
For the really laid-back, easy-going, natural approach to Summer Camp, join the Maryland Area Naturist Association at beautiful Camp Ramblewood, Thursday, July 7 to Sunday, July 10, 2011.

Camp Ramblewood styles itself as a "unique, rustic resort," and it really is just that! For more than 20 years, the camp has been a preferred venue for naturist and alternate lifestyle groups from New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. The entire site is clothing-optional.

Camp Facilities
Camp facilities include flushing toilets, hot showers, electricity, a big swimming pool, a dining hall serving buffet-style meals, and excellent cellular reception. The site covers about 200 acres, surrounded by trees. Use of the cabins is optional; you're welcome to set up your own tent and will find plenty of suitable space for doing so. (There's no extra charge for cabins, but some folks prefer the privacy of their own tents.)

Camping Neighbors
We'll be sharing some of the camp's facilities with another clothing-optional group: the Chesapeake Pagan Community. The Pagans will be using the cabins along the North side of the camp for their own summer retreat, while MARNA is using the cabins in the South portion of the camp. Both groups will share the dining hall and the pool, which are big enough to easily accomodate all of us.

MARNA has extended an open invitation to CPC's members to visit our side of the camp and participate in our Summer Camp activities. We have a similar invitation from CPC, so feel free to visit the entire campground. Both events are clothing optional.

The on-line registration system for both camping events is managed by CPC's Treasurer, a certified public accountant and database manager with more than 25 years of accounting and programming experience. Thoron Woodling has been keeping the books for gatherings and camping events since the first Pagan gathering at Camp Ramblewood in 1986.

Nude Run, Walk, N Ride!
As our contribution to nude recreation in America, MARNA and CPC are hosting a Nude Run, Walk, N Ride! on Saturday morning. We've plotted a course for riding a bike, running or walking about the camp from 1/4 to a full mile.

2011 Record Breakin' Skinny Dip & Hoops
Record-breakin' Skinnydip & Hoops! On Saturday, July 9, MARNA will be teaming up with the Chesapeake Pagan Community to participate in the new AANR Guiness World Record Challenge: nude hula-hooping! At precisely 3 p.m. on that date, we’ll meet at the breezeway by the camp’s pool with as many people and hula-hoops as we can to meet the Guiness challenge. This will be followed immediately with a dip in the pool in an attempt to break our own local skinny dipping record. Both MARNA and CPC are offering a Skinnydipper's Pass for folks who want to help us make the record, but can attend for just a few hours on Saturday.

You don't have to know how to hula-hoop to participate. Successful hula-hooping is not required to be part of the official count. Just join in and have fun. All ages are welcome. (As with most of our activities, nudity is not required.)

We're offering a special Skinnydipper's Pass for folks who would like to help us make the record, but can visit for only a few hours on Saturday.

Play Unstrip Poker (Saturday afternoon) where the object of the game is to avoid putting on clothes.

Accessibility
Portions of the camp are not easily accessible to handicapped individuals, but CPC and MARNA are providing a golf cart and portable radios for accessibility. If you will be needing the golf cart, please let us know when you arrive at the front gate. We'll give you a radio so you can summon the golf cart as needed.

One of the cabins has wheelchair accessible doors, toilets and showers. Please let us know if you'd like to use this cabin. The entrances to most cabins have steps and narrow doors.

Community Service
Community service is an integral part of the Summer Camp experience. MARNA and its activities are run entirely by volunteers. We ask all of our adult participants to contribute some of their time to help us operate Summer Camp. If you would like to lead an activity, workshop, or class, that also qualifies as community service. Please fill out an Activity Proposal form so we can add your activity to the schedule.

Clothing Optional
Clothing Optional means that clothing is not required and a lot of folks won't bother to wear any. To wear or not to wear is your personal option. Aside from that, the same rules that apply to polite behavior elsewhere in American society also apply at Summer Camp. Things people do in privacy should still be done in privacy, and illegal substances are very definitely not allowed.

Skinnydipper's Pass (Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
The Skinnydipper's Pass entitles you to join us in the pool and to participate in any other Summer Camp activities from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. If you'd like to stay for dinner (6-7 p.m.) or extend your visit overnight, those options are also available as an addition to the Skinnydipper's Pass. There are no discounts for late arrivals. Don't be late and don't forget to bring your own towel.

Stuff to Do
We have a huge pool to play in and a big deck with plenty of lounge chairs to relax in. Maybe you'd like to learn juggling or bellydancing, practice drumming, make your own drum, play tennis, shoot some hoops, play silly card games, walk the labyrinth. Our camping partners will be having a beginner's sweat, which you're welcome to participate in. As the event gets close, check the schedule to see what we've added to it.
